Just saw the PBS Magic Moments broadcast (I watch every time it is on!) where Don Cherry was guest…delighted to find your music on line and your fabulous website…such wonderful memories there Thank you, Francine, for getting in touch with me to talk about Don’s fabulous dual careers. Your “best man” Norm Alden and I worked together in his Familiar Faces Charity Golf Classic in Fort Worth TX and it was such a pleasure to see him in your on-line wedding album. Thanks for the update keeping us Fans of the 50s listening to your music and sharing your busy activities. God bless your travels and good health to you both.

Don...We were in high school at the same time in Wichita Falls. As for me class of 1943. My first announcing job was at KTRN where you came for your program a couple of times a week. I would introduce you. If I recall accurately, your accompanist was Arlene Murph.
I worked for Pulitzer Publishing Company in St. Louis, KSD radio and KSD-TV--1949 to 1980.
Loved that "Band of Gold."

Remembering Don in Mrs. Didzun's music classes in Hardin Jr. College, Wichita Falls, Texas. Also, we were in the college choir together. I think I remember him singng Mona Lisa with the college stage band. That was in 1945-46 or 47. I am glad I found this website finding out about his exciting life since those days in Wichita Falls.
Best wishes to both of you, Don and Francine in 2013.

Thank you Francine. My cds arrived today and I have already played them. I am right now listening again to the Happy Holidays. This is the most beautiful holiday album I have ever heard. If I had looked at it earlier I would have ordered sooner. Since you sent it to me as a gift - I will order 3 more for gifts tonight.
You must add ESP to your talents because I had 4 favorite songs Don sings that I have been playing for my friends. Statue of a Fool, Sand and Shovels, and Going Away Party and Wonder Where They're Going. I am not really a sad person but something in his voice tears me apart.
Thanks again and both of you have a Very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2013.
PS I did listen to the Lansing Station with Jim stone but the cd is so much better.
A fan of two Cherries

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Cherry,
I just wrote a message and can't seem to get it sent. Trying again...I just wanted to say I hope you two are well and that you are both enjoying the holidays. I feel lousy about not communicating better...But I hope you know I think about the two of you very often.

Don-This is the first time that I've written to an entertainer. My lady & I discovered karaoke about 4 years ago. She's 55 & I'm 71. She likes the 80's music & I prefer the easier, more romantic music of the 50's & 60's. I remember your music from back then & tonight "re-discovered" your recording of "Band of Gold". I'm going to give it a try this weekend when we sing at our favorite spots. Thank you for your wonderful music.

I remember you so well from my teen years, so when Shawn joined our hallmark club years ago I was delighted to get to know him. I was at his house last week for a hallmark dinner and am happy about his future plans to become a college professor. He and Vince were fun hosts and hopefully we will celebrate his graduation next year. I also enjoyed your website which brought back memories.

Hello there,
I just wanted to thank Mr. Cherry for changing my life. Just 30 minutes ago I heard "Vanity" and instantly became a huge fan. I just turned 19 a week ago. I will surely always mark the beginning of my 19th year as the year I discovered Don Cherry. Im now downloading all of the Cherry I can find. His singing is so relaxed and laid back but not unintentional and thoughtless like a handful of pop singers of the golden age. His approach creates a very soulful and hip sound and style. Im listening as I write this and am just shaking my head in amazement.
Bill Kenny of The Ink Spots who is my all time favorite was also a great singer/golfer. Maybe Mr. Cherry played with Kenny a time or two? Anyway, Thank you so much for maintaining this website and if you could share this message with Mr. Cherry that would be greatly appreciated. I would like him to know he's got a new big (younger) fan. :-)
God Bless
Austin in Portland
