My daddy, Butch McBride, died last week in Wichita Falls. Your name came up while visiting with my uncles, Cotton & Fat McBride; I guess you were part of the Wichita Falls Country Club group. Your website is fabulous. We have already spent hours looking at and listening to much of what you have displayed in such a stylish fashion. Very classy! Hello you two. I was listening to the 'Nearness of You' and started to remember my time spent in Reno. It was a love song between my boyfriend and myself. I remember when we first heard it , we just stared at each other and from that day on it was "our song" I even remember what key it was on the jukebox. it was K-9. Then forever more the song was played many times a night

I remember you singing "Vanity" on the radio while I was babysitting my next door neighbor's kids back in the late '40s. It became my favorite and I memorized it and have the sheet music of it and also had an old 78 of it which somehow has gotten lost over the years much to my dismay. But my sister found your album on 33 1/3 at a thrift shop and knowing how much I was wanting a copy of that song she got it for me. She has since passed away. But I am so grateful to her for finding it on an album. The sheet music sits on my piano to this day. I just want to thank you for the memory!
