I've always loved to listen to Don Cherry's voice. God blessed you with a voice that made so many people happy just to listen to it. Wish I could hear you in concert. Did you have a home in Palm Springs in the mid 50's?
I have not read Cherry's Jubilee yet but I'll go right out and buy it.

Just finished talking on the phone to Francine and Don about Don's book: Cherry's Jubilee and about my time with the USAF Thunderbirds in the mid 60's. What a dynamic lady she is. And very interesting conversationalist.

Well, I must tell you what my husband said the other day. He was walking by the cd player and I had one of Don's cd's on. He said " If I had that voice I'd walk around all day singing just so I could hear myself" then he said "Is there any song that man can't sing?" Wow! what a guy! Jean

Hi Don & Francine,
I wanted to write this down before I forget. Jim walked by my computer and of course I was listening to you, Don, and Jim said, and I quote "That man sings better accidently than other singers do on purpose" Now coming from him, amazing.

I just finished "Cherry's Jubilee" and loved it. Many regrets that I missed most of your career to this point. Hoping that I and my son(he is 13 now and has a pretty good swing himself) will someday watch you swing or sing. Thanks for being a good guy and real American hero. --tim

Hey Don - from another Don Cherry. I used to sing and still play golf... was often asked if I was related to you. No such luck I guess. I was recently given a cassette of your music. Would be great to see you in concert sometime, or better yet, play a round of golf.

God Bless.

Don & Francine,

I just recieved three more CD's and all I can say is, I wish God had blessed me with a couple of more ears...... I never get tired of listening to this great voice. It won't be long before I have to re-order...I am wearing these out. I feel sorry for those people that haven't ordered yet. They are really missing out on a blessing.

Thank you Don and Francine for making your lives available to us all.

I used to sit in the Starlight theatre at the
Desert Inn at Las Vegas and listen to Don Cherry sing. I Love Don Cherry! He gave me one of his albums and signed it.
He dressed beautifully...I mean he had a flashy but tasteful wardrobe and told golf stories.
With Charlie Shaffer at the piano among others in the early 1990's .
He used to sing 'It Isn't Fair' for me by request...he used to kid that I mixed him up with Don Cornel But I really had no idea who Don Cornell was

Dear Nancy,
Loved your story, about Don Cornell. Thanks for sending it to us.
Warm Wishes,

Dear Francine and Don,
We got the new DVD honoring Don at Witchita Falls last Thursday, 4-16-09, and I have to tell you we stayed up until midnight watching it. Francine, as usual, you've created a masterpiece. You are such a perfectionist and God love ya for working so hard to put it all together for us to enjoy. The stories about Don were great, enjoyed them all, and Don's voice is pitch perfect. What a wonderful life to have had two careers and handling them both so beautifully. Don shall sing for the angels in heaven. Sid and I have Don's music playing either in the house or in the car most every day. Thank you both so much for blessing us with such wonderful music. Hope to see the two of you in June.
Love,
Maria/Sid Bishop

Dear Don and Francine
Thank you so much for the DVD covering the Honoring of Don in his home town of Witchita Falls. We all know what a Superstar Don is and how much he is loved by so many people and this DVD showed it all. His voice is still terrific, he is very funny and the DVD showed just how much he has done with his life and how popular he still remains. His great pal Dean Martin said that Don was the best singer that he had ever heard ( and that coming from Mr.Cool!)and you couldn't argue with that.
So I suggest that you contact Francine and get your copy of the DVD and when you have got it [ut a couple of hours to one side and just sit and enjoy with a nice glass of wine.
Before closing I must say what a fabulous job Francine has done, not only in putting it all together but her presentation on the DVD was absolutely terrific.
THIS IS A MUST!!!!!!!

Glad to hear that you are still singing. I rember my mom had several of yourr ecords. One that I especially recall was I'll be around. Also were you stationed at the Air base in Witchita Falls during the war. My mother Mildred Bohannon worked with the weather bureau there and recalls you singing over the P.A. system.

When ,I was in school I heard "I LOVE YOU DROPS" The song came along at a time when I was interested in a girl from church. I was able to buy the record but not the girl. So the record got alot of playtime & I know every word. It was played to the point that it has a loud hiss. Just flat worn out really. I still have the record & the hiss, but not the girl. Still think of her everytime I play it. Really was a great time.
THANKS DON

Dear Ricky,
What an interesting story,I happen to think that "I Love You Drops" is one of my favorite songs also. I hear lots of stories like that about Don's music contantly.
"The World Of Don Cherry" has "I Love You Drops" on our CD now, and many other beautiful songs. I am truly sorry about the girl, but as long as you play that song you still have your memories.
Thanks for visiting our guest book.
Don thought your letter was great.
Keep in touch,
Francine

Hi Don,
Do you remember me-Ken Wright, PGA lifetime member, I won 3rd in National Long Driving Contest back in 1960 and met you a few times. I was the pro at Airport Golf Club in Cheyenne, Wyo back then and was Colorado Section President back then. I have been back in Texas since 1971 and have been retired since 1988. I always enjoyed your singing as well as the golf. I am having my daughter write this to you since I am not computer literate! I am 85 now and trying to get in shape to play a little golf again this spring and summer. Been thinking alot about the old pros lately and hope you are doing well.

Francine & Don!
Many, many thanks for sending this clip of Don's appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. What a voice! I think Don's right at the top of vocal performers of all time.

The first time that I remember hearing Don-----------I was a chief engineer on a tugboat on the Panama Canal, must have been in the later 70s sometime; I had a radio on in my cabin, tuned to the local US Military station, SCN. I was in and out of my cabin during the day as we ran up and down the Canal from the locks to Gamboa in the middle of the Canal, I went into the cabin to relax for a minute, and Don was singing "Vanity." WOW!! I knew instantly that this guy was somebody special. I enjoyed what was left of his song, wondered who that singer was and................................................had to take care of something and forgot. A few days later I heard Don singing another song but recognized the voice. (the station DJ didn't announce any of the songs or singers) I noted the time, called the station later, asked the announcer who the singer was at that time----he was no help. It took me about a month before I could track down a name and the song. I was able to order a CD, and have been a big fan ever since! I've ordered more CDs and a video.

Many thanks again, and many happy years together!
