This CD was recorded in Houston and contains twelve classic Texas songs (traditional and contemporary).
Don sings Streets Of Larado in two octoves, because the famous cowboy
Rex Allen demanded that he should sing it that way. It's as if he paints a
picture for you in each wonderful song he sings.
Dear Don,
Sometimes my wife Cindy and l pull out a Don Cherry CD and just
absolutely "relax". Just played "BEAUTIFUL TEXAS / WALTZ ACROSS TEXAS on my
weekend XM radio show.
My, what the Cherry touching voice does do.
You just have to be very proud and greatful when you pull out one of
the current CDs and realize the voice is better --- greater --- more
enjoyable than ever! And we're talking about a voice that has always
been high marquee --- above most others. Don, your CD "Home on the Range" is wonderful. I realize I am repeating myself but it truly is a pleasure to sit back and listen to a pro. As you know, we don't have many REAL pros.
Don, we really need your voice today. With the world in the shape it's
in, the Cherry sound gives pleasure, comfort, and allows the world to
know we still have the super talent in Don Cherry.
Wichita Falls should name a stadium after you.
